Code of Conduct

  • Treat all players with decency and respect.
  • Follow all instructions given by the Admins/Server Police.
  • Refrain from messaging profanity or sexually explicit material in "system chat". This server is accessible to minors.
  • Refrain from griefing. This includes excessive dock camping. (For example: the act of sitting just outside a base/planet and destroying undocking players over and over and over again and/or before they have a chance to take control of their ship)
  • If one admin says no and you go to another asking the same question the Admins will have a personal vendetta against you for a very long time.
  • If an admin has to make a new rule for you expect to be banned for a very long time.
  • When in-game, if you find another player's comments offensive, tell them the following line "I no longer wish to discuss this with you, stop please.". Once delivered, the other person must, as per rules, drop the subject and not discuss it with you. If they continue, screen and send in. Do not engage in further conversation. This works for RP as well, but if you come across a group RP, it doesn't.
  • RP chat must have ""'s around it. Anything without ""'s will be considered OOC chat by the general population.
  • Do not lie saying an administrator said it was okay for you to do something if the administrator did not tell you personally that you could do whatever it may be that is traditionally against the rules. If one did not tell you personally then it probably didn't happen and if you lie and say it did... your lie will be discovered and probably in short order. Penalties for such abuse are severe.

Gameplay Rules

  • You may not attack players under the level of 35 without their consent. This does not apply if they attack you first.
  • You must adhere to the RoE, or Rules of Engagement at all times. Description of this can be found below.
  • Cheating, Hacking and Glitching (Glitching includes abuse of game mechanics) is not allowed on this server under ANY circumstances.
  • Do NOT bother an admin if he is in his RP tag
  • You may not have a second FL-ID account unless you have been approved by an admin to do so. If you're caught having a second account, you will have both accounts deleted and none of the lost credits returned to you. Also both accounts should NEVER EVER be online at the same time!
  • In the interest of fair gameplay, a player may not kill themselves to shorten trading time as it's an abuse of game mechanic limitations.
  • No metagaming. Some metagaming can't be helped, so it must be handled on a case by case basis. If you have any questions about what is and isn't accepted, ask an admin. Not knowing is not an excuse. (Meta Gaming includes switching characters to get ahead of someone in order to kill them.) You must play Roughly in the RP of the Faction you have joined. If Independent please use a measure of common sense.
  • When recording a video inside Freeworlds you must ask before recording begins or face a ban. Remember posing for the camera is never a valid dueling technique.
  • [PvP] tags May be used BUT must have permission from all parties to engage in a fight. NO transfering of Cash between PVP chars and Tagged chars.
  • Do not mount Quads or any other weapon other than the wingmen into the wingmen slot.
  • Civilians can fly caps but may not attend TEs in them, Unless they pay continual Maintenance on them same as pirates.

RoE - Rules of Engagement

  • You may not dock at a base who's owners lists your faction tag as hostile. The Rep system should take care of this. But the rule still applies.
  • You may not camp within 15k of a base who's owner lists your faction tag as hostile, You may attack people inside the 15k but once all enemy's are dead or docked you must pull back to allow undocking. As above, refer to the Territorial Holdings to determine a base's owner.
  • When attacked, you must either flee, defeat your opponent, or be destroyed. You may not log off the server or "F1" to escape.
  • If killed while engaged in combat, you may not undock and return until the skirmish is over. Ask "Clear?" in system chat before undocking to be sure.
  • A skirmish is a weekday attack in which you have unlimited re spawns, Get the other guy to retreat to win!.
  • While engaged in a skirmish, you may only dock and switch characters if both character are at the same base. This does not apply for capital ships.
  • Faction players may ask to land at newly hostile bases, only for the purpose of acquiring a ship. Hostile factions may impose any rules, for example of an escort to said base, but must allow a player to acquire a ship and leave to dock at a non-hostile base, before engaging.
  • You are not allowed to F1 in space, but must be docked or in orbit (Less than 1k) at a base that is within the parameters of what is allowed. For example, a allied base or a friendly base in a system.
  • Two HOSTILE Players MAY NOT use the same neutral base to respawn from. First land, first serve. Hostile players MUST let, if asked, for the other side to relocate. One of the players MUST move to another base before another engagement is started.

General Server Rules

  • Do not ignore ROE, It will lead to you being beamed to a nasty place were you have to find your own way out, No one gets Beamed out!.

  • Connecticut is the new designated PvP zone, You may only leave this area in PvP to purchase a ship then you must return immediately.
  • PvP Tags are not to be used to Factions for Training to avoid the enemy faction attacking them, You don't wanna get interrupted don't sit near a well traveled point route, There Is No rule to stop people attacking factions in training.
  • You may use /restart faction to start off with a rep of your choosing. Check Disco wiki for more details. Link found in new players forum.

Faction Membership Changing

This is a step by step process. ALL members must follow this. It is up to the member changing factions to make sure this is done correctly.

Members who leave a faction MUST wait 30 days either as a Civilian or pirate before joining a new faction. This is the set standard for ALL members wanting to swap factions. We do this to cut down on faction hopping and drama that may or may not be present.
The following is the process to reduce or veto the 30 day wait time to join a faction after leaving another faction. These are the ONLY WAYS to reduce that time.

  • Step One: You must pm your current faction leader with a request for a waiver. This waiver must look something like this:
Faction leader name,

I request a waiver to join right away this *Insert new faction's name*

    Thank you

    *Insert your name*
• Step Two: Your faction leader will then respond to you and the ADMIN GROUP a yes or no. Should look something like this:
Dear *insert person requesting permissions name* and Admins,

I here by *Insert approve or deny* *insert persons name* request to join *insert faction*

    Thank you
• Step Three A: If request is approved.. The Admins will then send a pm to the person requesting, the old faction leader and the new faction leader an acknowledgement. It will look like this:
K or OK, or KK, or fine, or whatever :D
• Step Three B: If the request is denied the Admin will then investigate the person requesting the waiver. Based on the investigation will either veto the faction leader and allow the waiver to be approved OR will set stipulations. Examples: give you 2 weeks as a pirate or civ to let the drama or what ever calm down. Or if you really are an arse make you play the full 30 days. This will be handled Via PM and NOT on TS. There will be a record of what ever an admin or admin team decides and both faction leaders will be told the decision.
  • Step Four: No matter the out come, DO NOT throw a fit. It looks bad on you. If you go by the book and your faction leader is the one with a problem the admins WILL deal with that faction leader. We are not heartless and even if we give you two weeks and we see you being active, more then likely after a week you come back to us we will revisit and let you know if you can or not. All of this will be done via PM and to the Entire Admin group.
  • Feel free to pm the admin group if you have questions about this, DON'T whine about this. This process works and has worked for many people. Just do these steps and all will be fine.

WARNING: If any of these steps are missed or not followed an anyway and you join a faction before the 30 days. The admins will spank you and the faction leader that let you in. DO NOT SCREW THIS UP. Just take it step by step and all will be fine and dandy. Do not assume, do not try to speed through it. Just follow the steps. What we are trying to say is, FOLLOW THE STEPS!

Hey Fellas I hate to do this and I know you all love the ability to swap your characters for someone else, But some of the SPs have come to me about this, And here is why.

1) Breach of Memberlist rules
Your characters on the memberlist which SPs use to confirm who you are is incorrect.

2) If there is a TE Failure and requires a Restart
SPs do not need to take the extra time needed to confirm its the same pilot.

3) SPs are worried about people using other peoples accounts
Basically from the point of SPs is that people flying other peoples ships, Even if its transferred with the in game system cannot be tracked by them
and I am not always around to confirm it.
Remember it is against the rules to use someone else's account, All it takes is an SP on a bad day to just say well I cant prove it and you get banned.

4) Getting Memberlist to update and reflect correct Characters
This is from an Admin Standpoint, Getting Memberlist to update and reflect correct Characters will be a full time job for Qi one i think he can do without, And we owe it to him not to make his life difficult.

So until further notice Character Code swapping is against the rules and will be punished by that character being deleted along with all cash and equipment.
No Bans just a simple character wipe, If you try to be a smart donkey and move the money to another character or bank, I will line my pockets with most of your dough :D.

Start getting your characters back I will be checking on Wednesday to make sure its all good.

This should only be Temp until i find away to allow easy tracking of the transfers on both sides

In lieu of not being able to use the Move Character codes I will allow 1 back up ship on the restricted slots these ships can show up for TEs in place of someone else but you may only use a max of 3 back up characters in total.

Just remember only people on the Restricted list can use that backup on the server in place of whoever is not showing.

As there is no maintenance on single ships there is no added price to it other than its initial purchase price.

Same rules apply to Back up pilots you cannot swap them out within 24 hours of a TE.

Back up chars can only show up to TEs and cannot be used in the Week.

Oh and no "Shadow" Chars of people with extra ships but not on the lists, I will find out. :D

Spoiler:
On the restricted list there are 3 backup slots

For now 1 Back up TT
1 Back up Heavy Cruiser or Heavy Destroyer
And 1 Back up Battleship

You can use all 3 in a TE if the three pilots are not around to fly for the Faction.

Hiding inside base models is against the rules, It used to be somewhere but i am posting it again.

Any ship or person abusing the FTL system or simply going into a bases hitbox to protect it from Fire will be kicked and banned from the TE or beamed to the Kessel Maw installation if it is your First offence.
There are no what ifs, and well i didnt mean to.

If you use /j or any other FTL command to jump into any player or base you will be kicked and banned from the TE or beamed to the Kessel Maw installation if it is your First offence, Anyone killed by the jump action may instantly rejoin.
